Peace, cooperation, development, and mutual benefit
Honorable host, Ladies and gentlemen, good morning!
Professor Yu Chengxun is my old friend. He is the founder of the Northeast Asia Economic Development Forum and has made great contributions to the organization and development of the forum for many years. Let us pay tribute to Professor Yu Chengxun!
Today my speech's tittle is: "Peace, cooperation, development, and mutual benefit".
In the international regional economy, the basic operating mechanism is peace, cooperation, development, and mutual benefit.
The world economy should be open, and only openness can promote development. A win-win situation or a mutual benefit are good combinations, neither single win nor zero-sum game. Any combination that causes losses cannot cooperate.
Northeast Asia is in the active belt of the world economy, which has great potential and business opportunities for cooperation.
The active belt of the world economy is distributed in 20 to 60 degrees north latitude. Northeast Asia, which located in this area, has the characteristics of coastal economy: suitable temperature and humidity, abundant resources, large population, huge market, long history, concentrated industrial productivity. We are supposed to utilize and protect those favorable conditions well.
Among countries in this active belt, China is the second largest economy, Japan is the third largest economy, and South Korea is the ninth largest economy. China, Japan and South Korea have immense potential and advantages for cooperation.
China advocates building One Belt One Road, and welcomes neighboring countries to take a ride.
After the outbreak of the world financial crisis in 2008, how to revitalize the world economy, Western countries did not come up with effective solutions, and China proposed an initiative to build a Belt and Road. The world economy today is very unbalanced. The infrastructure of the vast number of developing countries is seriously inadequate and urgently needed to be built. For example: hospitals, schools, drinking water, roads, stations, bridges, stadiums, airports, and other living facilities.
China has world-class construction experience and capabilities, world-class product production capacity, huge financial resources, and can utilize those resources to make contribution for developing countries. We also welcome countries to participate in the cooperation framework of One Belt One Road Initiative. Develop together.
China advocates the establishment of a community of shared future for mankind.
The earth is the shared home of human beings and other creatures. Everyone not only has the right to enjoy the blessings of nature but also has the responsibility to maintain world peace. Any act that is based on its own security and harms the safety of others is unacceptable and ultimately harms implementer itself.
China advocates the establishment of a community of shared future for mankind, which calls for the establishment of a common security system, abandoning zero-sum mentality, and opposing hegemonism. The world's affairs should be discussed by the people of the world together. Only peace leads cooperation, only cooperation leads development, and Only development achieves mutual benefits.
China preserves the rules of the world economy.
After the Second World War, a relatively stable international order has been formed after years of development. Reforming the international order also requires consultation and joint construction, rather than wishful unilateralism and perturb the order. Any way to release pessimistic signals will not bring benefits.
China is the contributor and vindicator of the world order. China is a country that releases positive signals. China is an important engine for world economic development. China is the world's largest single country market, the largest industrial producer, the largest trading country, and the largest foreign exchange reserve countries, the largest bank savings countries, and the most active foreign investment countries, China is the developing country with the long-run progress.
We welcome all countries in the world to uphold the concept of peace, cooperation, development and mutual benefit, and work together to achieve success.
